Can Cannabidiol (CBD) help fight cervical cancer? Read here

In 2017 there was an estimated 12,820 women in the U.S. diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Cervical cancer kills approximately 250,000 women every year in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Did you know? It is the most lethal cancer amongst black women!

The study, conducted by Lesetja R. Motadi and Sindiswa T. Lukhele of North-West University in South Africa, utilized in vitro analysis techniques to compare the anti-proliferative effects of cannabis sativa extract and one of its main cannabinoids — CBD — on human cervical cancer cells.

The investigators found that the killing of cancer cells, through a process called apoptosis, was induced by CBD.

Additionally, CBD, even at lower concentrations, was found to be more effective in inducing apoptosis than any other cannabis cannabinoid.
